About the Standard

What is EN 15085 Certification?

EN 15085 is the internationally recognised standard for the welding manufacturer of railway vehicles and  components. It specifies quality requirements, ensuring consistent quality, safety and reliability.

EN 15085 applies to rolling stock manufacturers  (OEM of  locomotives, coaches and wagons including metro coaches), components and assemblies.

PZ is an accredited/recognized Manufacturer Certification Body (MCB), recognized by the European Committee for Welding of Railway Vehicles (ECWRV) to certify EN 15085 – Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components.

The certificates are being issued from PRVÁ ZVÁRAČSKÁ, a. s. Slovakia Republic for all countries. Upon satisfactory review, the organization’s certification will be registered on the ECWRV website www.joincert.eu

.

Why It Matters

Railway Welding Compliance

Ensure railway vehicles and components are manufactured in accordance with the quality requirements of EN 15085 standard.

Competence of Welding and NDT Personnel

Verifies the competence of welding coordination personnel, NDT Personnel, qualified welders & operators, approved welding procedures and controlled fabrication processes.

Manufacturing Traceability

Provides traceability of parent materials, welding consumables, inspections and manufacturing records throughout the production processes.

Safety and Reliability

Promotes consistent welding quality, reducing welding defects and contributing to the structural integrity and safety of railway vehicles and components.

International Recognition

Demonstrates compliance with internationally recognised railway welding requirements, enhancing confidence among customers, manufacturers and regulatory authorities.

Standard Requirements
