About the Standard
What is PED 2014/68/EU?
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU establishes the essential safety requirements for the design, manufacture, inpection, testing and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and pressure assemblies intended to be placed on the European Union market. The Directive defines the requirements for CE marking, technical documentation, material traceability, manufacturing processes and conformity assessment in accordance with the applicable European legislation.
The Directive applies to pressure – retaining equipment operating above specified pressure limits, including pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure piping, safety accessories and pressure assemblies. Depending on the equipment category, conformity assessment may invlove a Notified Body in accordance with the applicable assessment procedures defined in the Directive.
PRVÁ ZVÁRAČSKÁ, a. s. (Notified Body No.2408), performs conformity assessment in accordance with the applicable modules of the PED 2014/68/EU. Successful conformity assessment provides independent verification that pressure equipment confirms to the applicable essential safety requirements for CE marking under the Directive.
