What is EN 1090?

EN 1090 is a European standard that sets the rules for making structural steel and aluminum parts.It includes the requirements that manufacturers must follow to show their products meet the necessary standards.This includes Factory Production Control (FPC), welding, tracking of materials, checking and testing, and keeping technical documents for CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) (EU) No.305/2011.

This standard is made for parts that hold up structures like buildings, bridges, factories, and other construction projects.
It divides these parts into different levels called Execution Classes (EXC1, EXC2, EXC3, EXC4), based on how they are used and the risk involved.It also has rules for production control, welding procedures, inspection, testing, and keeping records to prove the product meets European standards.

EN 1090 applies to companies that make steel and aluminum parts used in construction.
