The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU sets out the key safety rules that pressure equipment and pressure assemblies must follow when being made, checked, tested, and approved for sale in the European Union.It explains what is needed for the CE marking, technical documents, tracking of materials, how products are made, and how to check that they meet the rules set by EU laws.

Equipment falling under the directive’s Article 4(3) sound engineering practice provisions does not bear the CE marking under the PED.
