EN 1090 Certification
Execution of Structural Steel and Aluminium Components
EN 1090 Certification specifies the requirements for the conformity assessment of Structural Steel and Aluminium Components.Independent certification verifies conformity with the requirements for Factory Production Control (FPC), building coordination, qaulified welding procedures and the applicable requirements for CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), ensuring contriolled manufacturing and production process.
About the Standard
What is EN 1090?
EN 1090 is the European standard for the execution of structural steel and aluminum structures. It specifies the requirements for the conformity assessment of structural components, including Factory Production Control(FPC), welding , material traceability, inspection, testing, technical documentation for CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR)( EU) No.305/2011.
The standard is specifically developed for load – bearing structural components and defines Execution Classes (EXC1, EXC2, EXC3 and EXC4) according to the intended application and level of risk.It includes requirements for Factory Production Control(FPC), welding coordination, qualified welding procedures, production control, inspection, testing and quality records to ensure conformity with the applicable European requirements.
EN 1090 applies to manufactures of structural steel and aluminum components used in buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, infrastructure and other construction works.EN 1090 certification provides independent verification that a manufacturers FPC confirms to the applicable requirements for CE marking under the CPR.
Why It Matters
Compliance CE Marking
Verifies conformity with the requirements for CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
Factory Production Control
Verifies the implementation and maintenance of effective Factory Production Control (FPC) system.
Execution Class requirements
Applies the appropriate Execution Class (EXC1 to EXC4) according to the structural application and execution requirements.
Qualified Welding Coordination
Verifies qualified welding coordination, approved welding procedures, competent welding personnel .
Material Traceability
Offers material traceability for structural materials, welding consumables, and production process.
Standard Requirements
Technical Requirements for EN 1090 Certification
The standard lays down necessary technical requirements related to the production of structural steel and aluminum products with Factory Production Control, welding, material traceability, and conformity with the construction rules of Europe.
Factory Production Control
Keep a proper Factory Production Control (FPC) process in place.
Qualified Welding
Qualification of welding process and welding people.
Welding Coordination
Qualified welding coordinators supervise fabrication works.
Execution Class Application
Follow Execution Class (EXC1-EXC4).
Material Traceability
Material traceability from receiving to delivery.
Equipment Calibration
Calibration of welding and inspection equipment.
Technical Documentation
Keep FPC, inspection & CE documentation.
CE Marking Compliance
Comply with CPR requirements for CE marked structural elements.
